We
long for the day when the pet overpopulation problem is solved
and when pet neglect and pet abuse is no more. We look to
the time when there will be a loving, humane and life-long
home for every pet. We look forward to a day when pets are
considered a permanent and vital part of family life. We seek
a time when humanity, in total, truly understands the unique
needs of pets and willingly provides for those needs. Although
we continue to make progress toward those ends, there is still
so much more to be done.
Because
the CHS is a 501 C3 nonprofit, independent humane society
operating with limited operational funds, manpower, and material
resources, progress sometimes comes slowly. Animal causes
remain low on the overall giving scale. Even though we face
those and other difficulties, our resolve remains high and
we continue to seek creative ways to permanently solve the
many problems that pets face today.

To
claim your gift as a charitable contribution on your income
tax, the IRS requires each gift of $250.00 or more to be substantiated
with a proper acknowledgement by the charity. Upon receipt
of your gift, the CHS will send you the required acknowledgement
of your donation. Acknowledgements for gifts of all amounts
will be provided.

You
We
extend to you our deepest gratitude for your help with this
important endeavor.
Membership
Members
are the foundation of our 501C3 nonprofit corporation. Members
receive quarterly newsletters, can participate in periodic
surveys, can vote, can serve on the CHS Board of Directors
if elected, and can serve on committees. In essence, members
have a more direct voice in the activities and future of the
CHS.
Annual
membership dues play a significant role in helping the CHS
to provide our vital services to pets, people and communities.
We
express to you our gratitude if you are already a member and
ask your help in recruiting others to join. Membership is
an important key to attaining the goals that we aspire to
on behalf of multitudes of pets.
General
Monetary Gifts
The new Cherryland Humane Society Shelter and Adoption, Education
and Conference Center has approximately 14,000 square feet
of space and is being constructed at a cost of $1,500,000.
A portion of the facility will be built from funds received
from donors providing specific rooms. The majority of the
facility will be made possible from general donations. Below
is a list of giving levels. The names of individuals, businesses
or organizations donating will be placed on a nameplate and
affixed to a display board indicating their level of giving.
The display boards will be permanently mounted in our facility
and will serve to perpetuate the names of the donors and their
compassion and concern for unwanted and homeless pets.

BUILDING
FUND
Many
rooms at the new CHS facility are named for individuals, businesses
or organizations contributing to the total cost of a specified
portion of the facility. A nameplate, along with pictures
of the donors, will be affixed above the entrance to the specified
rooms with the name of the individuals, businesses or organizations
providing the rooms. Nameplates honoring those that provide
individual outside dog runs for $3,500 each will be affixed
to the specific runs. The recognition provided will serve
as a perpetual testimony to each donor's compassion and concern
for homeless pets. Several rooms are still in need of a sponsor
- the table below shows the donation amounts needed for these
rooms. Click here for more

Gifts
of Personal Property
An
increasingly popular method of giving comes from donations
of personal property. Gifts of vehicles, homes, land, and
the like can provide substantial funds for non profit organizations,
when such organizations sell the donated personal property.
If you are considering a donation to the CHS Building Fund,
you may wish to consider a gift of personal property. We shall
be pleased to discuss such an option with you. Your contribution
will serve as an investment in the lives and future of homeless
pets, and will perpetuate your concern for those so dependent
on each of us for their welfare.
Perpetual
Giving
If
you have asked how you might help to impact the future of
pets, you might consider including in your will or trust a
provision for the work of the Cherryland Humane Society. Remembering
our animal friends will not only provide a means to secure
a much brighter future for them, but will also serve to provide
a lasting memorial to your compassion for the welfare of pets.
It is a provision that will have an important effect upon
pets not just for today and for tomorrow, but for years to
come.
